Merry Christmas! I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday, and got everything you were hoping for! I thought I’d post another festive book tag, this time I saw it done by Ash from For The Love of Books and thought I’d join in!
A fictional family you would like to spend christmas dinner with?
I’d love to spend it with the Lightwoods! Imagine how funny it would be having Jace, Magnus and Izzy around the Christmas table??

Long time no see eh? If you hadn’t seen my tweets – I’d decided instead of doing Blogmas this year, I was going to take a break from blogging as it was getting a little much for me. I was starting to struggle a lot more with my mental health, and I needed to take a break.
I’m still on a kinda hiatus (I’ll return fully in January!), but I really wanted to do some Christmas book tags before it’s over!
My lovely Sarah from Book Hooked Nook created her own book tag, and tagged me in it! Thank you Sarah! The images of the questions she also created – go give her some love!
Honestly I’ve read a lot of books with surprises – but this one takes the crown! I was so surprised by how emotional this book was, and how much I ended up loving it!

Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love

Here we are on Day 11 of Blogmas! I’m having so much fun with Blogmas, and today I have a very festive book tag (spoiler: one of many this blogmas!).
The 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag was created last year by Ashley @ Falling Down The Book Hole.
I found this on Stephanie’s Book Reviews from 2015 and thought I’d give it a go!
On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: a partridge in a pear tree.
The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favorite stand alone?
I’m going to go with one I read recently since there are SO many I love, but I’ll have to go with Hate List by Jennifer Brown – it is so amazing and a truly wonderfully written book.

Title: Christmas at Woolworths by Elaine Everest
Release: 2nd November 2017
Synopsis: Best friends Sarah, Maisie and Freda are brought together by their jobs at Woolworths. With their loved ones away on the front line, their bonds of friendship strengthen each day. Betty Billington is the manager at Woolworths, and a rock for the girls, having given up on love . . . Until a mysterious stranger turns up one day – could he reignite a spark in Betty? As the year draws to a close, and Christmas approaches, the girls must rely on each other to navigate the dark days that lie ahead . . . With so much change, can their friendship survive the war?
A heartwarming and joy filled book, that is perfect to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Although this is a continuation from Elaine’s first novel, The Woolworth Girls, it was not necessary to read them in order and I loved that. It allowed me to get invested in the book straight away!
The characters are so easy to love and the friendship between the two main characters is something that I know a lot of people can relate to. It was so nice to see them going through this rather stressful time together, and I really felt I could put myself in their shoes.
From start to finish I just loved reading this book, and the writing style was a perfect fit to the overall story. It was a great balance of family, friendship and although sometimes a bit slow paced, it was the perfect book to read on a cold winters day – especially tucked up in bed with a hot drink!
