1. Have you ever re-gifted a book that you’ve been gifted ?

No, I actually haven’t! I hate re-gifting gifts, unless it’s for sentimental reasons or I have too many of something! But I’ve never actually done this!

Disney Book Tag!

Hi everyone!

I’M SO EXCITED TO DO THIS TAG! I absolutely ADORE Disney, so much I actually have a Beauty and the Beast thigh tattoo! So when I was tagged in this by the lovely Rachel over at Rachel’s Rambling Reviews, I couldn’t be happier! Thank you!

Anyway let’s get started!

The Little Mermaid
A character that is out of their element, a fish out of water

There are a lot of books I’ve read with characters out of their element, but the most prominent one that came to mind was definitely Starr Bishop from Starr Fall by Kim Briggs! Starr is just a normal girl but then is brought into a world of assassins, murder and being a fugitive without ever asking for it!

I feel so bad for her! But she handles it like a boss!

Three Bookish Pet Peeves

  1. When people purposely break the spines of books! I don’t mind it if the book is just super loved, but why break them on purpose?? THEY HAVE FEELINGS TOO!
  2. When books are all different heights/sizes in the same series! I have books that look AWFUL on my shelf because Book 2 in the series is higher than Book 1 and 3 and I’m like WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS.
  3. When a book in a series is released in hardcover first and you have to wait approximately 78479230 years before getting it released in paperback!

The Unique Blogger Award!

Hi everyone!

I was tagged by the lovely Danielle over at Introverted Book Nerd! Thank you so much for this my lovely!

I always feel so honoured when I get nominated in these awards, I feel like I’m finally on the right track with my blog, so thank you so much for nominating me!

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Danielle’s Questions:

What is one achievement that you are proud of?

I’m extremely proud that I got an article I wrote printed in a city-wide newspaper. I was terrified to do the article by myself out of university (it was something that I was doing by myself), and I didn’t have much hope it would get published. But then to see my name in print in an actual newspaper and knowing people all over my city would read it? It’s a feeling I’ll never ever forget.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I want to visit Australia so bad! I mean I’m terrified of spiders and they have like THE BIGGEST spiders in the world so I’d probably live in fear the entire time I was there, but hey ho! It’d be worth it I reckon!

Who gives you strength in everyday life?

My friends and family do. It’s impossible for me to just name one person, because I’m so lucky that I have an amazing support system around me. My friends are constantly there, my fiance is always making me smile, and my parents have been supporting me for as long as I can remember. I love them all, and they all keep me going.

My Questions:

What is your favourite childhood memory?

What is your biggest dream?

If you could have dinner with one famous person, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

I tag:

Vrinda – A Bookish Human

Sarah – She’s A Writer

Lorryn – Reading Parental

Jordan – The Bookish Baker

Linda – Linda’s Little Library

Meghan-Alice – Not Quite Alice

Dorka – Berries and Books

Cassie – Cassie Winters

Until next time,

The Cost of Living by Rachel Ward // Blog Tour Review

Title: The Cost of Living by Rachel Ward

Rating: ★★★★★

Release: 21st September 2017

Synopsis: When a young woman is attacked walking home from her local supermarket, Bea Jordan, a smart but unfulfilled checkout girl, is determined to investigate. Colleagues and customers become suspects, secrets are uncovered. While fear stalks the town, Bea finds an unlikely ally in Ant, the seemingly gormless new trainee, but risks losing the people she loves most as death comes close to home. The Cost of Living is a warm, contemporary story with likeable leads, an engaging cast of supporting characters and a dark thread running throughout.

This book was one of the best murder mystery books I’ve read in a very long time!

Ant & Bea are a duo that could give even the worst detectives a run for their money, but they do it in the best way! I loved everything about this book. The friendship between Ant, Bea and Dot was one of the best things. I loved how I felt so involved in their relationship, it was like reading about friends of mine.

The story overall was so clever and brilliantly written, not only was I constantly on edge wondering who was committing the crimes, but I absolutely loved the setting of Costsave, and how we got to see the daily life of them there. It felt so easy to immerse yourself in the story, and was so unique for a murder mystery.

I’ve never read about a crime in such a common situation that could easily happen, so it also added a bit of suspense that I never expected! The story was told in such a fun way in parts, it helped to lift the dark underlying story, and I loved it.

Everything about this book was written so well and the ending kept me on the edge of my seat, so much I couldn’t put it down!

A fun, deadly, and friendly murder mystery told in one of the most unique and exciting ways, this book is definitely the start of a series that is definitely going to be one to watch out for.

You can buy The Cost Of Living on Amazon UK here!

*NOTE: I was sent this book in return for an honest review and that is what I have written. All opinions are my own and are completely truthful.*

This was my stop on the wonderful blog tour for The Cost Of Living! I had so much fun, and I’m so honoured to be part of such a brilliant tour! Don’t forget to check out the other stops for the tour below:
