Release: 16th February 2015
Synopsis: Amy Lennox doesn’t know quite what to expect when she and her mother pick up and leave Germany for Scotland, heading to her mother’s childhood home of Lennox House on the island of Stormsay. Amy’s grandmother, Lady Mairead, insists that Amy must read while she resides at Lennox House – but not in the usual way. It turns out that Amy is a book jumper, able to leap into a story and interact with the world inside. As exciting as Amy’s new power is, it also brings danger – someone is stealing from the books she visits, and that person may be after her life. Teaming up with fellow book jumper Will, Amy vows to get to the bottom of the thefts – at whatever cost.
A beautifuly story about books, families and magical realism that you will fall in love with.
The concept behind this book is so completely fascinating, I loved it. Jumping into books is something I wish so much I could do, so when I started this book I knew it was right up my street. The writing was absolutely stunning within this book. Mecthild has such a poetic way with words, that even when the characters are diving into other books, it feels as if you’re right there with them.
There is so much depth within the story that I couldn’t help but completely immersing myself with every aspect of it. The characters are so well developed, and I just completely loved Will and how determined his character was.
The situation between the two families reminded me so much of Romeo and Juliet – with the feuding families of the Montagues and the Capulets. I loved how Amy and Will felt so much like star crossed lovers and they had to battle so much to be together.
This book was so unbelievably beautiful and I just loved it from the irst page until the very last. I cannot wait to continue the series as I just know it will captivate me and make me fall in love with the world all over again.
