A fantastical novel that will make you fall in love with the Goblin King all over again.
I love the film Labyrinth so when I heard this was focused on the story of the Goblin King, I picked it up right away.
Naturally it took me around 200 years to read it, and after nearly unhauling it twice, I thought I’d actually try it and I’m super glad I did.
The beginning left me a little bored if I’m completely honest. I wasn’t very interested in the family or how they interacted, and felt like putting it down.
That is until the Goblin King came into it, and I completely fell in love. The relationship be has with Liesl is so well written and developed and I loved how they had little to no insta-love. It was such a refreshing relationship to see.
Seeing how they developed with their situations, and their feelings was so well written. The world building was amazing and the pace constantly kept me wanting more.
The ending broke my heart, but I am so excited to go to book 2. A beautiful story of love and learning to put yourself first whilst learning to love yourself.
