Top Ten Tuesday: Hidden Gems!

Hi everyone!

I’m back again with a new Top Ten Tuesday! ! TTT has actually moved from The Broke and the Bookish now and is actually over at That Artsy Reader Girl so go and check out everyone’s posts over there!

This week’s TTT is all about books that we have found that are hidden gems! It might be ones that people don’t talk about anymore, or books that you never hear anyone talk about, now is the time to talk about them!divider-2461548_1280

The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee

I just finished the final book in this trilogy, The Towering Sky, and honestly if you hear someone screaming it’s probably me about how much I ADORE this series. The minute I put it down I was so upset more people weren’t talking about it because it deserves all the love in the world! It’s so brilliantly written, with so many essential and well developed characters – I don’t know how Katharine does it. Please please PLEASE read this series! My review for book one is here: The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee // Review.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black

The first book I ever read by Holly Black and I am still SO upset it wasn’t a series. I was hooked from the first page and never thought I’d become as immersed as I was. I now recommend this book to anyone and everyone because it truly is one of the best “monster” books out there.

What the Flower Says of Death by Danielle Koste

I recently finished this and I couldn’t do this TTT without including it because this book is severely underrated. I cried, I laughed, I shouted at Danielle for ruining my life (a common aspect of reading books). It deals with mental health and loss in beautiful ways and I will never stop thinking about how much I love this book! My review will be up soon for the blog tour!

Hate List by Jennifer Brown

This was picked up from the bookstore on a whim, because I really wanted to buy a book and wow.  I chose damn well, because this is such a heartbreaking and in places devastating book about coming of age, and dealing with trauma and I wish there were more people I knew who’d read it so I could talk about it. My review is here: Hate List by Jennifer Brown // Review.

Starr Fall by Kim Briggs

You all know by now that I adore Kim, but this series is truly outstanding. Not only does it have the perfect balance of romance and thrilling action, but it is also so addictive you won’t want to put it down. I can’t wait until a time where people all around the world know Kim’s name! My review for book one is here: Starr Fall by Kim Briggs // ReviewStarr Fall by Kim Briggs // Review.

Reflections by Briana Morgan

When Briana contacted me about reading her book, I didn’t know what to expect. I definitely didn’t expect such an emotional read with such a badass strong character! I couldn’t put it down and was completely blown away by how well written it was! My review is here: Reflections by Briana Morgan // Review.

The Creeper Man by Dawn Kurtagich

I love Dawn and this was the first book I ever read by her, and if you love horror books I want you, no I NEED you to read this! It’s written so uniquely and is completely fascinating and chilling from the first page until the last! My review is here: The Creeper Man by Dawn Kurtagich // Review.

13 Minutes by Sarah Pinborough

I’ve heard people talk about Sarah’s adult thrillers, but I barely hear anyone talk about this YA book by her – and I can’t cope because it’s brilliant! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time reading it, and this is actually where I discovered Sarah! My review is here: 13 Minutes by Sarah Pinborough // Review.

The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed

My friend Lauren told me to read this, and honestly I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about it. It’s so well written, and so hard hitting with some very difficult topics but wow is it done well! My review will be live soon!

That’s Not What Happened by Kody Keplinger

This book only recently came out, so I know it might not be TOO hidden at the moment but still it was absolutely amazing and I need people to read it. I read an e-ARC and then went and bought it because I needed a copy in my life! My review for it will be up soon!divider-2461548_1280This was so difficult to choose only 10!! I could have gone on forever, there are so many amazing books I wish more people knew about! Are any of your favourites there? Leave a comment below with your thoughts and a link to your TTT – I’d love to discover some new books!

Until next time,

  1. Thank you for sharing your list of hidden gems. I’m adding What the Flower Says of Death to my wishlist. I’m always looking for books that discuss mental illness. The Creeper Man seems so creepy. I’ll probably be a great Halloween reading.

    Happy readings! 😉

  2. I’ve never seen that cover for the Nowhere Girls before. I like it and need to read that asap! I’ve heard it’s super emotional!! Also you mentioned wishing Coldtown was a series. Does the book not have a finite ending? Or you just wish there was more?? I’d love to know before I dive into that world! Thanks!

Feel free to check out my hidden gems here: http://bit.ly/2MkJRkX
