Rating: ★★★★

Release: 22nd September 2016

Synopsis: In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomach-ache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of beasts. But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose . . . it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.divider-2461548_1280Review:

CHOOSE: Fire, Poison or Nature. Which Queen do you support??

A tale of loyalty, hatred and sibling rivalry – these sisters are truly deadly.

I really enjoyed this, and I think it’s a fresh version of a story told throughout history; of the struggles of royalty and siblings. It is really good how the POV splits – I loved getting insights into the sisters and how their personality changes throughout the book.

I also loved seeing how different they were from each other, and how they grew into their talents. The interaction between them was done so well, and the pacing of the book was fast but perfect.

The ending was outstanding and really left me wanting the next book, which I definitely didn’t expect. I’m not sure when I’ll manage to pick up book 2 but I’m excited for when I do!
