Monthly Wrap Ups

June 2018 Wrap Up!

Hi everyone!

WOW! This has probably been the most successful reading month I’ve had in a very long time – reading a HUGE 22 books! I also got quite a few ARC’s read too – which to say I’ve been drowning in them is good for me!

Let’s check out what I read!

ARC Reads:

Title: The Hanging Women by John Mead

Rating: ★★★

Review: I really liked this debut novel, and you know I’m all about a good crime novel! I was part of the blog tour for this book, and I posted the review at the start of the month – you can find it here: BLOG TOUR: The Hanging Women by John Mead // Review.

Title: Fragile Lives by Stephen Westaby

Rating: ★★★.5

Review: I was accepted for this book on Netgalley, and I thought it sounded so interesting. It was very interesting and I enjoyed getting an insight into such an inspiring and tough job – although it was sometimes very technical and confusing at times!

Title: First Survivor by Mark Unger

Rating: ★★★★

Review: This was such an inspiring and raw story. I really liked how it included the diary entries of Mark – it added such authenticity and portrayed the true desperation he went through to help his child. Truly inspiring. Review will be up soon!

Title: City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab

Rating: ★★★★.5

Review: THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. I still can’t believe I managed to get an ARC of it, but I absolutely adored it. It was so well paced, beautifully written with an amazing story! I can’t wait for it to be out in the world! My review will be out closer to the time of release!

Title: Orgo Runners: The First Run by R. J. Furness

Title: Dis_Ability by Munir Zamir

Title: Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

Rating: ★★★★

Review: How it’s taken me so long to read this book is beyond me?? I love every single character, and the story itself was just brilliant. I didn’t actually expect to love it as much as I did for some reason, but I’m so glad I’ve finally read it.

Title: The Dollmaker of Krakow by R. M. Romero

Rating: ★★★★

Review: Wow this book is just beautiful. It is quite literally magical realism at it’s finest, and I still can’t quite get over how brilliant it is from start to finish. Review will be up soon!

Title: Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

Rating: ★★★★.5

Review: I’m not really one for high fantasy but thought I’d give it a try with this series since it’s so popular, and I’m so glad I did! I loved the split POV and I really can’t wait to read the rest of the series, it was so good. Review up soon!

Review: I mean this is a classic for a reason – to read about characters I have loved ever since I was little is just priceless. It was so much fun, and also this cover is beautiful!

Title: The Queen and I by Sue Townsend

Rating: ★★★★

Review: My dad recommended this book to me after he read it when he was younger and honestly, it was just brilliant. I loved the entire story, of the royal family having to live like “commoners” and the entire story was unbelievably funny. My review will be up soon!

Title: Vicious by V. E. Schwab

Rating: ★★★★★

Review: It’s no secret that I love Victoria’s books, and this is one I have been meaning to read for so long. My lovely Sarah bought it for me for Christmas, and after I heard that the sequel is out later this year, I had to read it now! I AM IN LOVE WITH VICTOR VALE. I absolutely adored this and can’t wait for Vengeful!

Title: Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

Review: I was super upset when I got this book because I ended up getting the edition with the roses – but after reading this I AM READY TO BE A NATURALIST. I mean my main goal is to 100% be a poisoner, but I’d be happy to be any of the queens! Review up soon!

itle: It Gets Worse by Shane Dawson
