So last month I got my fiance, Ben to choose my TBR for the month! I thought I’d do a quick summary post of how I got on with the books he chose – I think I did pretty well! As a reminder here are the books he chose: Fiance Chooses my TBR!
A classic book:
To Kill A Mockingbird
I actually got this read and I’m SO glad I did! It was so interesting and I couldn’t believe it had taken me so long to get to it. I can’t wait to write my review of it, I can see why it is Ben’s favourite book.
An ARC chosen because of it’s title:
The Tall Man
I didn’t actually get to this and I’m quite sad I didn’t – it sounds amazing! I think I’m going to still read it as soon as I can though as it comes out this month!
An ARC chosen because of it’s cover:
In Search of Us
THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. I am so happy Ben chose it and I am still just completely baffled at how amazing it was!
A book chosen off the top of his head he knew was on my TBR:
I did start this book, but at the time I couldn’t get my head around reading the Scottish slang so had to put it down! But from what I read I can’t wait to read it in the future!
A Stephen King book:
I also started this, and I’m still in the process of reading it – it’s so good so far and my dad is also reading it which is fun!
A book from my downstairs bookshelf:
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO SO MUCH. It was so much fun and the cover that Ben chose really lived up to the book inside.
A book from the bookshelf outside my room:
This means Ben can finally have his book back now! I read this quite quickly and enjoyed it – but I can’t say I’ll be reading the next books in the series.
A book from the bookshelf inside my room:
The Lie Tree
I also managed to get to this book, which makes me happy because I was so happy to read it! I really liked it, but wish there was something else in it, it lost pacing a bit for me.
I’d say it was a success if anything? Ben chose 8 books, and I ended up reading 5 of them and starting 2 more of them! That’s pretty good for me! I have a habit of straying away from a TBR so this wasn’t bad.
Until next time,
