I AM FREE OF DEADLINES FOREVER! This month I handed in my final deadline for university and I am officially FREE! Well that is until I can get a full time job, but for now I’m enjoying my freedom and doing some reading! I read 13 books this month, and quite a lot of ARC’s which I am so happy with!
Let’s check out what I read!
Review: I didn’t really know much about this book when I got accepted for it on NetGalley but wow am I glad I read it. It was so poetically written and I just adored how deep the meaning behind it was, and it really made me think and brought me to tears quite a lot too. My review
will be up soon!
Title: Alignment of Thoughts by Mihai Brinas
Review: I recently read and reviewed Mihai’s first poetry collection which you can find here – April 2018 Wrap Up!. I loved it so when she sent me her newest collection I couldn’t wait to dive in! I really loved the honesty, and although I did prefer the rawness of the first collection this was still completely outstanding.
Review: YES I actually read a Sci-Fi book this month! I actually took part in the blog tour for this book which was brilliant fun, so if you want to check that out then please click here to read my review on this brilliantly exciting book – BLOG TOUR: Joshua N’Gon: Last Prince of Alkebulahn by Anthony Hewitt // Review.
Title: The Beasts Heart by Leife Shallcross
Review: Once again this was also a blog tour book, and I LOVED this one so much. Definitely my favourite retelling of Beauty and the Beast and I want to read it all over again! If you want to check out my review for this book make sure to find it here – BLOG TOUR: The Beast’s Heart by Leife Shallcross // Review.
Review: This book is everything. I honestly didn’t expect to love it half as much as I did but wow it was amazing. I loved the split POV and the ending BROKE ME. I am still not okay after reading it, and now I need to read every book Ava writes because it is beautiful the entire way through.
Review: I’ve recently fallen in love with Shane and his videos, and they really helped me get through my final deadlines, so when I saw that his book was on Audible and I had a free trial I thought why not! I LOVED IT. It was so funny, so honest and I loved hearing Shane narrate it – it added just that little bit extra!
Review: This book is so brilliant. It reminds me SO much of The Dresden Files (and even makes a comment to that series too which is one of my favourites!). It’s so well written, and I was captivated completely – Alex Verus is definitely one of my favourite characters and I want him to be my best friend now.
Review: I LOVE CASSIAN AND THIS WAS BRILLIANT. I loved getting an insight into how everyone is coping with the aftermath of the war and also can we just please appreciate my baby Cassian and Nesta? I loved the insight into Nesta’s character SO much. My review will be up soon!
Review: The first book I’ve read by Frances Hardinge and I really liked the writing of it. She has a great way with words, but I just felt there was something missing from it. I felt it lost a bit of pacing throughout the novel which was a shame but I still enjoyed it! My review will be up soon!
Review: I FINALLY DID IT GUYS! I finally read To Kill A Mockingbird! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S TAKEN ME SO LONG TO READ IT. It was absolutely brilliant! I really loved the story and the way it was written completely captivated me. Also NO ONE TOLD ME THERE WAS A CHARACTER CALLED JEM??? My review will be up soon!
Review: I know that the series on Amazon is coming out soon and I’ve been wanting to read this for SO long so thought now is the best time to. It was so good, I loved the iconic opening line and the overall plot of the book. It was so interesting and I can definitely see why it is a loved book! Review will be up soon!
Title: The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
Review: It was reading Ash’s review on this book (find it here – BOOK REVIEW |THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ – HEATHER MORRIS |& MY EXPERIENCE OF VISITING THE AUSCHWITZ CAMPS ) that convinced me to pick it up because this era of history has always fascinated me. This book was outstanding. It inspired me, it brought me to tears, and I am just so glad I read it. It was brutally honest at times and I loved that. My review will be up soon!
Review: This is now my favourite poetry collection of all time. I am still completely in awe of this beautiful writing, and every single poem resonated within me in such a brilliant way. I loved how raw and honest every poem was, and I couldn’t stop highlighting them and writing my favourites down. Amazing.
