A heart-warming and emotional story that will stay with you long after the final page.
I absolutely adored Letters to Eloise, Emily’s debut novel, so I was so excited when I heard she was writing another book, and for charity as well! This book exceeded my expectations in every way and I have fallen even further in love with her writing style.
I really loved Rafferty’s character, and the fact this was a male protagonist was so refreshing. I love reading about strong female characters, but having a male protagonist was such a welcome addition to the YA genre.
The writing style and the narrative were absolutely wonderful. I felt so invested in the characters, and the relationship between them all was just perfect. I also loved how there was no insta-love within the book, which is something that is commonly overused within the YA genre, and I loved how the book didn’t rely on romance to carry the story!
There was also such detailed research shown about horses, and was not only used to immerse you even more within the novel, but also taught things about looking after horses which I loved.
The ending was both heart-breaking and shocking, and I still don’t think I’m over it today. It was handled so beautifully, that I couldn’t help but sob and let out all the feelings I had throughout the book. It was just amazing from start to finish!
With one of the most beautiful writing styles I’ve ever read, an emotionally charged story, and brilliantly created characters – this book is sure to stay with you for a very long time. Emily Williams is definitely here to stay and I can’t wait to read her next novel!
