An intriguing and gripping book that will leave you instantly reaching for the next book so you can continue the story.

I really liked how it kicked in straight away, it meant that right from the start I was so invested and wanted to read on. The characters were all so well written, and worked perfectly together to create such a thorough story.

I also loved how the narrative had a backstory and such depth within the backstory. It was not only a brilliant addition to the book overall, but left me wanting to know more about the world and it was such a unique part of the book.

Joshua has such a wonderful way of writing, his writing style fits perfectly with the story, and grips you from start to finish.

With fantastic writing, an ending to leave you desperate for the rest of the series, and a backstory to immerse you into the world, this is definitely a stand out book for fantasy fans.
