Release: 26th December 2013
Synopsis: Somebody must have suggested Bob Curry write a book. He didn’t just wake up one morning with the idea. Or did he? Well at least working in a publishing company he should have no problem finding people to read it. Or will he? Read along as this dark comedic play moves quickly to an epic conclusion. Will you enjoy reading a play? Of course you will don’t forget it is and will always be Written for You.
When I was asked to read this, I was intrigued by the synopsis, but was unsure as to how it would work in the style of a play. However once I started it, it actually worked perfectly! It was so good to see the story play out in my mind, and the added off scene parts were useful to understand exactly how the characters were acting in every scene.
The characters were so interesting, especially Bob. I loved his character as it developed and we learnt more about him. He is such a unique character, and I found with every scene I liked him more and more.
The narrative overall was so brilliantly planned and thought out, that I loved the aspect of mystery that was tied into it all. I constantly was kept guessing as to what was happening, and it was so fun to try to guess what would happen, I was fully immersed in the story.
The ending was a complete shock, and thinking about it now it was the absolute perfect way to end this book. It was so clever, and really showed just how much work Joseph had put into it, and I loved it so much. It was so brilliantly open ended, but also so well created, and possibly one of my favourite endings to any book!
This book was one of the most unbelievably unique stories I’ve ever read, I can honestly say I’ve read nothing like it, and the play format worked with it perfectly. I was kept guessing, and left in awe. I definitely recommend.
*NOTE: I was sent this book in return for an honest review and that is what I have written. All opinions are my own and are completely truthful.*
