Synopsis: My name is Amy Gumm. Tornadoes must have a thing about girls from Kansas, because—just like Dorothy—I got swept away on one too. I landed in Oz, where Good is Wicked, Wicked is Good, and the Wicked Witches clued me in to my true calling: Assassin.

Review:

The exciting third installment in the bestselling Dorothy Must Die series, is a wonderfully enthralling addition, and brilliant lead up for the finale.

I loved being back in the world of Oz, and this book was probably my favourite out of all three so far. I loved how we started off in Kansas rather than Oz, it was such a breath of fresh air, and was a brilliant contrast between the evils of Oz, and the normalcy of Kansas. It was reminiscent of the first book, but you could see the change in Amy, it was so well thought out.

The introduction of the new villain instead of Dorothy, was brilliant and added a new aspect to the story! I loved how it was different to the other books previous to this, and the change of direction is just what the story needed.

The development of each character is so wonderful that I fell in love with them all over again! I loved the relationship between Amy and her mum and how different it was from the first book. It was so emotional and I felt like I was put in Amy’s shoes in the best way.

The ending was amazing and kept me wanting more! I love how Amy’s other friends have been involved, and I was in shock at everything that happened so quickly! I really can’t wait for the finale, and I’m so ready for where this story takes me!

You can buy Yellow Brick War, and the other books in the Dorothy Must Die series from all major outlets!

  1. I think I read books 1-2 of this series and then it became overwhelming. I think she added 5-6 novellas and 2-3 more books or something like that. I finally just stopped trying to keep up. I did really enjoy the first two books though. So glad you loved this one!
