I was tagged by Laura over at An Introvert Inklings, so thank you so much for the tag!
The Liebster Award is an award presented to bloggers by other fellow bloggers, with the pure intention of supporting each other! As part of being nominated, you must answer the eleven questions given by the blogger who kindly nominated you. Then in turn nominate eleven more bloggers and leave eleven new questions for them to answer.
I feel so honoured to have been nominated as blogging is one of the best things I’ve ever done, so to be nominated is a dream come true!
Here are my answers to Laura’s eleven questions!
What is the one book you own that means the most to you? And why?
Okay so I have a few that mean a lot to me, but I’m going to say The Stand by Stephen King. It means the world to me because my nan bought it my dad when he was younger, and it’s my dad’s favourite book. He doesn’t read much so this being his favourite really means a lot, and he passed it down to me, just like my nan passed it down to him. I love how we have a book heirloom, and it brings with it a piece of my nan (who sadly passed away 3 years ago), and my dad, who entrusted me to look after it.
Describe your bedroom or perfect reading nook…
My perfect reading nook is laying on my bed, with a nice cup of tea, and some snacks (preferably biscuits because I’m addicted!). If it’s cold then I love being in my pj’s with my duvet tucked tightly around me!
What are your thoughts on book to movie adaptions?
I’m always very wary of them, and have mixed feelings! I’m so excited when they’re announced because I get to see my favourite books on screen and no longer have to imagine them in my head! However I’m also scared they’ll ruin it and change the story from the original that I loved – so it’s mixed emotions!
Do you prefer Spring or Autumn?
Spring! I’m not even sure why, I’ve just always liked it!
What is your favourite TV show? And why?
Doctor Who without a doubt. It’s something I’ve watched since I was little, and I’ve loved it ever since. I love the situations the Doctor walks into, how he deals with them and it’s such a fun yet serious programme filled with so many beautiful moments! It’s also something most of my family have always loved so it’s a family bonding thing! I also have a big thigh tattoo dedicated to it – so it’s definitely cemented as my favourite!
What is your most anticipated read for the rest of 2017?
Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King and Owen King! I absolutely LOVE Stephen King’s books, so I can’t wait for this to be released! I was also going to say Godsgrave because even though I’ve read it, I can’t wait to own the finished copy!
How do you spend your summers? A day in the life of you?
Well this summer I (finally!) have a job, so my day has been pretty simple: I work 8am-2pm, then when I get home I normally either catch up on TV with my parents, read, or do some blogging! At the weekends when I’m not working I normally spend time with my fiance by going out to our shopping centre!
What is the most outrageous and rebellious thing you have ever done?
Once when I was little, I was at a friends house and was feeling rebellious, so I decided to cut a big chunk of my hair off. I then panicked and hoped I could hide it, but was busted as soon as I got home! I was never meant to be a hairdresser haha!
If you could meet one author or famous person in the world, who would it be? And why?
I would absolutely love to meet Patrick Stump or Lin-Manuel Miranda. Both of them have inspired me so much throughout my life, and to meet them and have a conversation with them would be the most amazing thing ever. Their music helps me to get through a lot of dark times, and I’d love to thank them for that.
Which character’s wardrobe/clothing style would you like to steal?
LILA BARD. She is a badass pirate and her style of clothing is something I wanted since the first day I read about her!
One piece of advice you would give to another fellow blogger?
Blog what you want! Never ever feel obliged to blog something, even when you don’t want to. It’s YOUR blog, and that means it’s YOUR choice what goes on there, no one elses! Blogging should always be a fun activity you do, even if it becomes your job. It’s meant to be something to enjoy, not something to burden you! If you don’t want to write that review – DON’T! You say what you want to do!
Also please don’t ever book blog because you want free books, it’s not cool and it should be about sharing your love for books with those who are like minded! As long as you keep it to your liking, then you can’t go wrong!
There we go there are my answers! Now here’s my 11 questions:
- If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, which book would it be? Why?
- What was the first book that made you fall in love with reading?
- What is your favourite book quote? Why?
- How many books are currently on your TBR? (And be honest, we’re all book addicts here!)
- Name one talent that you have (other than reading haha!)
- What is one musical instrument you wish you could play?
- What is your favourite book genre? Why?
- Who is your favourite fictional character?
- What is a meal you could eat forever and never get tired of?
